About PCAB Accreditation

For Veterinary Practices

A PCAB-Accredited Compounding Pharmacy.

Wedgewood Pharmacy has earned the Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board's (PCAB®) Seal of Accreditation, demonstrating that we meet the highest standards of quality and safety in our profession. We were the first pharmacy in the Philadelphia area to earn PCAB Accreditation, on January 31, 2012, and have been re-accredited annually since then.

The Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB) is a nonprofit organization that provides a voluntary accreditation program for compounding pharmacies nationwide. It was formed by eight of the nation’s leading pharmacy associations to promote, develop, and maintain principles, policies and standards for improving the quality of pharmacy compounding nationwide, contributing their time, money, and leadership to make PCAB, a voluntary system of standards for compounding pharmacies, a reality. The program is managed as a service by the Accreditation Commission for Healthcare (ACHC).

PCAB assesses those pharmacies that voluntarily apply, and awards the PCAB Seal of Accreditation to those pharmacies that accept the PCAB requirements, meet the criteria, and comply with the Rules and Terms of the PCAB program, including adherence to PCAB Standards. The PCAB Seal of Accreditation provides evidence of adherence to quality standards and to principles of the profession of pharmacy compounding.

To earn PCAB Accreditation, we completed an extensive application and provided documentation of our standard operating procedures to assure that we are practicing compounding pharmacy at high standards of quality and safety.  PCAB and leading experts in the field of compounding reviewed this information and conducted an extensive on-site inspection of our pharmacy. When these stringent evaluations were completed, we received the PCAB Seal of Accreditation and the right to use the designation “PCAB Accredited® compounding pharmacy.”
